Yesterday, before leaving beautiful, sunny and hot Cabo, I took a walk to take some pictures and capture some more memories to hold me over until my next vacation (and for dreams of returning).

Planning a Destination Wedding - Part II

My wedding came and went...it's kind of sad that it's over, especially when I spent over a year planning for it!  But, at the same time, I was happy that I no longer had to worry about little details once I returned from Mexico. I could not have asked for a better day for my wedding.  We lucked out in the weather department - there had been a 90% chance of rain for our wedding for the entire week leading up to it, and the two days prior, there were afternoon showers.  However, our wedding planner said he and his crew knew the weather very well and were quite certain no storms would interfere.  Our wedding began at 4pm on the beach, and ended at 10:30pm on one of the outdoor terraces - at 10:32pm, it down-poured! Turtles and Sharks! - Diving Kauai

Since completing my Advanced Open Water three weeks ago, I have been so excited to go on a dive to the depths of the ocean, having the ability to see wrecks and go inside caverns and tunnels, and to just experience so much more than what I could with my Open Water certification.  I spent the days working up to our trip to Kauai nagging Bryan, "which dives do you want to go on?  what days do you want to go"?  Eventually, I had to just say, "let's go!" We didn't book anything in advance, so on our first, long day in Kauai, we found a little booth at the Po'ipu Shopping Village that had people trying to sell tourists day trips and excursions.  The lady we spoke to was extremely nice, and managed to get us a small discount on a dive trip if we agreed to sign up for a 'free' vacation from Diamond Resorts.  Timeshares abound!  Anyway, as we were talking to this lady, she suggested either a 2-tank or a 3-tank dive.  Well, of course the 3-tank dive see...

Arrived in Curacao: Santa Barbara Beach Resort

It's 3:30 PM on May 2nd and Bryan and I are holed up in our hotel room with the shutters closed and the A/C cranked!  Okay, well, he's right under the covers in bed sleeping and I'm bundled up in a sweater.  Can you believe that I got sick of laying by the pool?!?! Yes, I felt that I'd had enough just sitting around doing nothing and that it was time to get some work done.  So, we came back to the room and I sat outside on the balcony (in the heat) for a couple of hours.  Let me just say...yes, I could definitely get used to working on my balcony in the heat!  I just got uncomfortable in the chair after awhile.  I'd need a real desk set up outside to work at. Anyway, we left Bonaire yesterday, unfortunately.  I really like Bonaire and would go back.  It's more laid back and quiet, except when the cruise ships show up (which happened yesterday).  Otherwise, it's easy to get around and most places are easy to get into for food or whatever. ...
